The vehicles feature an idle reduction technology (IRT) that allows the engine to automatically switch off and a diesel powered generator to take over the 12v electrical functions. This feature works when designated conditions are established.”The main engine will not continue to sit in idle, yet power remains accessible from the generator, winterization components continue to keep the vehicles warm and emergency lighting continues to function,” said RJ Jones E-ONE’s Sales and Product Manager for ARFF and Federal Government Products. The IRT helps to reduce fuel costs, emissions and noise.

Each of the top mount rescue pumpers have a 1250 GPM mid ship pump, 530-gallon water tank and (2) 30-gallon foam cells while still offering ample hose storage. The aluminum extruded body includes two poly speedlay trays for storing 1 ¾͟” pre-connected hand lines as well as an electric/hydraulic ladder rack specially designed to lower the center point of the stowed ladders to as low as 48″ from the ground. Other selected options include compressed air foam system (CAFS), automatic tire chains, and rear suction configurations.

The vehicles are being delivered to USAF bases around the world.
