Omaha Fire & Rescue was founded in 1860 and today has 658 career firefighters who respond to approximately 60,000 incidents each year. The department has 24 stations to serve a population of 500,000 across 212 miles. Omaha is home to one of the world’s best zoos, the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, which features the world’s largest glazed geodesic dome and North America’s largest indoor rainforest. Omaha is also home to the NCAA Men’s College World Series.
