Founded in 1930, the Rosedale Volunteer Fire Company provides both fire and EMS protection to an 8-square mile diverse area comprised of residential dwellings, apartment buildings, a large industrial area with heavy manufacturing, and smaller store front operations.  The fire company also is responsible for 10 miles of interstate highway and both CSX and Amtrak train lines. With its 75 volunteer firefighters, the company responds to about 1300 incidents each year for a population of 16,900.
