With more than 30 years of aerial engineering and first responder industry experience, Jim Salmi has been appointed to the position of Director of Aerial Product Development for E-ONE.
“As we continue to focus on providing customers with innovative, custom, quality apparatus, Jim’s vast knowledge of aerial engineering will allow us to take our aerial products to the next level,” said Dirk Steyn, vice president of engineering for E-ONE. “We’re thrilled to have Jim joining our team and are excited to see how his expertise will further strengthen the industry’s leading aerial product line.”
Most recently, Salmi spent ten years with Spartan ERV and served in several leadership roles including general manager for aerials, president and general manager, and founder and general manager of Crimson Fire aerials. Prior to his employment with Spartan, Salmi spent 11 years with American LaFrance/LTI in various roles such as general manager, vice president of engineering and sales, and as a chief engineer. Salmi received an engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and has been actively involved with industry organizations such as the chair of the aerial subcommittee of the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers Association, or FAMA, and as a group chair for the National Fire Protection Association, or NFPA.
